thier are moments in the history of all religions which reject all authority, whether temporal or spiritual, and claim complete liberty to act in accordance with thier inner light.and, both because of persecution and as a mark of thier complete turning away from the world, they do not have as thier objective the changing of social conditions of this world, but rather withdrawl from it and a purifacation of religious beliefs in preperation of the next.yet any heresy that demands a withdrawl implies a criticism of the worlds values. and, moreover, the very act of withdrawl, especially if it led to the establishment of a group of like minded devotees often involved those who practised it in measures which might seem dangerously subersive.many sects, such as the waldensians in north italy and southern france in the early thirteenth century made a cult of poverty and thus implicitly condemned thier fellow ctizens who pursued riches. as we have seen,"AN-ARCHY"IMPLIES "WITHOUT (HIERARCHICAI)AUTHOROTY". ANARCHISTS ARE NOT AGAINST "AUTHORITIES" IN THE SENSE OF EXPERTS WHO ARE PARTICULARLY KNOWLEDGEABLE,SKILLFUL, OR WISE, THOUGH THEY BELIEVE THAT SUCH "AUTHORITIES"SHOULD HAVE NO POWER TO FORCE OTHERS TO FOLLOW THIER RECOMMENDATIONS.
